Researchers used sodium ditionite to decolor acid dye wastewater and evaluated the effects of pH, sodium ditionite concentration, dye concentration, and temperature on decoloration efficiency. Treatment conditions of pH 7 at 30 minutes with a sodium ditionite concentration of 2-3 grams pr liter achieved optimal decoloration Wastewater temperature had no effect on decoloration efficiency. 5 refs.
