DyStar and Monforts's Econtrol cold pad batch dyeing machine features a padding unit and a novel Thermex dryer that fixes DyStar reactive dyes in 2-3 minutes. Maintaining a constant temperature of 120 degrees centigrade and relative humidity of 25 percent in the Thermex chamber minimizes fluctuations in batching time and temperature. A lead fabric sets a constant atmosphere in the chamber without loss of liquor before the dyed substrate is fed into the chamber. A wetting unit behind the padder wets out the lead fabric with water. The process prevents tailing, which results from changes in the depth of shade and/or hue along the fabric dyed via the cold pad batch or continuous dyeing methods.
