Monforts’ Montex 5000 tentering machines and Thermex hot flues feature flue gas heat exchangers in each machine section. Combustion gases from blower burners are distribued into the tube bundles of the flue gas heat exchanger, recollected as they leave the tube bundles, and led out of each section via a conduit. A circulation system guides the air in the tentering section of hot flue around the tubes of the flue gas heat exchanger. The combustion gases heat the circulating air. A sensor measures the circulating air temperature prior to contact between the air and the fabric and adjusts the gas supply to the burner to maintain a constant temperature. A waste gas/water heat exchanger recovers a protion of the energy in the waste gas for reuse. The indirect heating system prevents the combustion gases from coming into contact with air circulating in the tentering machine.
