Pilot tests with electrochemical dyeing (Italian) (Prove pilota con tintura elettrochimica)

The process of electrochemical dyeing, developed and patented by Dystar, and currently being tested in a pilot study under production conditions by the Austrian firm Getzner Textil AG, is described. The process is designed for the vat dyeing of yarn in packages. The process is supported by a team of interested institutions and companies, the TET (Technology Team Electrochemistry Textile). The new process uses electrical current to reduce the dyes, instead of a reducing agent, with the help of a regenerable Fe2+/Fe3+ reducing system. This will reduce the number of chemical processes required and thus lead to less pollution.
