Kinetics and equilibria in dyeing

In order to understand dyeing behaviour and control it, it is essential to conduct measurements of equilibrium and kinetics. Absorption isotherms are presented to assist in characterizing and classifying the dye-fibre sorption process. The diffusion of the dye from the fibre surface to the interior of the fibre is then discussed, together with the concept of half dyeing time.
