Following general remarks on color management along the textile chain and the role of the Internet, various color initiatives from international companies are reviewed. The eWarna platform, suitable for any size of dyeing operation, is described. An integrated package from GretagMacbeth and SheLyn Inc. aids instrument management. New lab dyeing ranges from Datacolor follow with the Ahiba Nuance Plus system covered and five key features outlined. The Ahiba Multiprecise TC is also included. Online tracking of laboratory and production “submits” between customers and suppliers comes from SheLyn’s e-Submit. X-Rite’s new technology platform for color formulations and quality assurance solutions has just been launched - Color Master with five options. Mahlo’s CIS-10A Color Monitoring System incorporates a reflectance spectrophotometer providing instantaneous color measurement. Among other Internet applications are the HD Chemical Dispensing System (Then), Exact-Weight dispense range (Bespoke Textile Computer systems), color Service’s automated systems, Comeureg’s dye behaviour prediction system, and developments from Kinder International Systems and Stork.
