Lextra Microfibre heat transfers have resulted from a three-year development partnership between Chris Kay International and the American Lextra? license Fiberlok. The development is complex and patented and uses millions of ultra-fine microfibres to produce the same high-voltage fibre coating that is employed to make Lextra transfers. A softer feel and superior design clarity are the advantages of the shorter and thinner fibres. Five benefits are listed for the Lextra MicroFibre graphics and other positive outcomes also noted. The Lextra process is being used in the automotive industry, by haute couturiers, 3D product designers and the sports and leisurewear markets. It can be rendered in Braille and Benetton provided a demonstration of this on World Braille Day, 4 January 2002, in a series of T-shirts with words in Braille. An explanation of how this was achieved is provided. Full contact details are supplied for the European, world and Irish, and UK sales offices of Chris Kay International.
