Reports on Cyclanon CEO the new reducing agent from BASF for washfast dyeing on polyester and acetate. It can be applied directly from the acid dyebath removing need for double liquor change: textile pH of 4 to 7.5 can be achieved in one rinse after dying: it is readily soluble in water allowing ready rinsing after post-clearing: more stable in air than conventional agents in the post-clearing bath. It is readily eliminated in biological clarification plants, has low oxygen demand, yet has optimum effectiveness at same concentration as other agents. As a liquid product it is more easy to meter, and give 40% reduction in water consumption and 30% in processing time.
