In wool fibre-anion dye dyeing systems, the bath composition often comprises various auxiliary agents depending on the kind of dye and the form of dyed wool material. Surfactants-tensides are the basic components in the composition of most auxiliary agents. Levelling agents of various compositions have the most widespread application. The influence of nonionic tensides (FN-10 and FN-20, Merima-Krusevac) and the anionic tenside (Etopon-LSP, Teol-Ljubljana) on exhaustion, diffusion and acid dye fixation (C. I. Acid Red 114, Chromos-Zagreb) into a wool fibre (Australian wool 433 type), has been examined. Auxiliary agents, in the range of concentrations used in practice, caused serious changes in dyeing kinetics of the examined system such as retardation. Nonionic tensides exhibited stronger influence.
