The use of low temperature plams technology on the wettability of plain-weave polyester fabrics is investigated. The results are used in the water-repellent finishing of the fabrics, which may then be used in protective clothing or as tarpaulins. Fabric absorbency is also improved. The finish is applied by plasma grafting or coating.
