The history of Lohmann, a German manufacturer of nonwovens, dates back to its founding in 1851. The company's current raw material processing capabilities include web forming by roller card with longitudinal or lateral crosslaying; spunlaying; and reinforcing with woven fabric or yarn inlay. Its bonding processes include needling, shrinking through the use of high shrinkage fibers, and adhesive bonding agents by padding, spraying, or printing. Its finishing capabilities include setting, buffing, skiving, calendering, and coating. Its major products are filters, surgical supplies, upholstery, shoe fabrics, cleaning products, apparel accessories, conveyor belts, and substrates for coating.
