Spontex, a roll goods producer in Paris, is internationally known for its cellulosic sponges. Its new facility in the United Kingdom has a resin bonded line and a thermal bonded line. The company already has a similar facility in Spain, which produces nonwovens for wipes. The plant in the United kingdom makes nonwovens in the 18-120 grams per meter range and has expanded color printing capabilities. The resin bonded line produces materials from viscose, polyester, and cotton blends. The thermal bonded line processes fiber blends of polypropylene, viscose, and cotton and 100 percent polyester in a variety of bonding patterns. An improtant capability is printing roll goods both online and offine in one or two colors. These goods target the decorated cleaning cloth market.
