The latest sewing room technology is examined. Recently the emphasis has been on increased flexibility and operator control over the machine. Photoelectronic sensors for more sensitive contorl, user-friendly workstations, more efficient use of thread and compressed air, the electronic control of certain functions, and stepping motors to provide cheap and reliable power are all discussed.
