Sensor technology has advanced to the point where the automatic Inspection of nonwoven fabrics is now more feasible. Electronic hardware and software available today can quickly detect and rectify faults, thereby increasing savings and justifying the initial investment in automated equipment. Three types of sensor technology systems are examined: laser scanning, the light scanner, and CCD cameras.
