A process for producing a spunlaced nonwoven cotton fabric which can be repetitively laundered without significant deterioration in tis mechanical or textile properties comprises: applying pressurized jets of water to a nonwoven, cotton-based fabric to interlace the fibers; draining the water away; impregnating the fabic with an aqueous solution of a polyamide-amine-epichlorhydrin resin; and drying the fabric at a temperature sufficient to at least intiate crosslinking of the resin.
