The nonwovens market in Mexico is prepared for significant development. Production is insufficient and the potential for investment is great. Nonwoven technologies currently in use in Mexico include spray bonding, resin bonding, print bonding, spunbonding, thermal bonding, needle punching, and stitch bonding However, except in the case of a few large companies, the technology in use for these processes is outdated and inefficient. In response to the recent free trade agreements, large foreign companies have recently been laying the foundation for manufacturing in Mexico. There are many industries in Mexico that use nonwovens that are not produced in that country. Other industries in Mexico are experiencing explosive growth and will require nonwoven products of higher quality. Mexican industries for which the need for nonwoven products is expected to expand include the automotive industry, the apparel industry, the constuction industry, agriculture, and medical waste disposal.
