Meltprint and Hotmelt-Screenprint - New Hotmelt Application process.

Two new hot melt application processes are melt print and hot melt-screen print. Melt print is an engraved roller application system for applying fusible hotmelts onto webs for coating and laminating. The system permits the application of liquid hotmelts onto a running web in precisely specified patterns. This web may then be laminated onto a second web. Major advantages are the elimination of emissions, high process efficiency, and the ability to use a range of hotmelt compounds. Villars Maschinenbau AG has patented the Hotmelt-Screenprint system for applying fusible hot melts to webs. Based on screen printing, the system applies a hot melt through the apertures of a rotary metal screen onto a running web and permits dot and other types of patterned coatings. The web may then be laminated onto a second web. The pattern of the coatings depends on the design of the rotary screen.
