Polyamide 12 fibres for paper manufacturing felts

When compared with polyamide 6 and 66 for new paper making felts, PA12 Grilamide fibres have several advantages. The felts exhibit better wearing behaviour on the paper presses, mostly with regards to permeability, abrasion, resiliency and compressibility. Other pluses for PA12 fibres include less soiling more suppleness, better dimensional stability and chemical and hydrolitic resistances. The polymer has been developed by EMS Chemie AG in Siwtzerland for plastic applications. Now offered as a textile product under the name PA12, the fibre is available in a range of 6:7 to 44dtex with cut lengths from 75 to 120/min.
