FIBER OPENING AND BLENDING LINE FOR NONWOVENS

Laroche has developed a fiber opening and blending line for nonwovens. The line consists of a weight pan feeder, blending conveyor, pre-pener, and fine opener. The weight pan feeders are 1,000, 1,600, or 2,000 millimeters in width. The weigh pans fit on an independent frame; load cells are linked with a weight controller. Feeders have either a PVC or metal feeding conveyor. A pre-selected quantity of fibers from the feeder go to a conveyor with pre-blending rollers and a press roller. A sandwich blend is delivered to the pre-opener. The pre-opener consists of a feeding system with pressing roller, two feed rollers, and an opening cylinder with pins. Tufts of blended fibers are delivered to the fine opener. The vertical fine opener has two opening sections and is capable of processing even long, fragile fibers at high speeds.
