Fiber orientation after exiting the carding machine plays an important role in the lengthwise and crosswise resistance of the web. Some carding machines, particularly those manufactured by Thibeau and Spinnbau, offer attachments that allow for the manufacture of homogeneous webs with different fiber orientations. This feature facilitates the manufacture of nonwoven fabrics from these carded webs.
