Polypropylene melt-blown nonwovens as absorbents of oil-type substances

This article presents the lubricating oil absorbent properties of selected melt-blown nonwoven products. These products are developed and manufactured at the Polish Textile Institute, Lodz. Using the mechanical squeezing and centrifuging methods, it was confirmed that the absorbent materials are suitable for repeated use in the collecting and recovering of spilled oil substances.
