Toyobo Ecotech Co., Ltd, is a new company established by Toyobo Co., Ltd, and Ebara Corp for the recycling of used PET bottles into flakes or pellets. These will then be used to produce recycled polyester fibre. Toyobo will use 30％ of the fibre for Echorclub products and the rest as materials for nonwoven fabrics. Echorclub is polyester recycling, undertaken by Toyobo and Mitsubishi, used primarily for unifom applications. Toyobo plans for 1997 to market recycled polyester fibre for nonwoven fabrics for vehicle and living material applications, and to expand Echorclub products to cover more than just uniforms.
