Danaklon of Varde, Denmark, has introduced a bicomponent for use in the production of air laid nonwovens. The company claims that the fibre reduces the problem of dust formation commonly encountered during production to as little as one fifth of that produced when standard bicomponent fibres are used. It also claims that the bond between the bicomponent and the cellulosic is enhanced, hence improving bonding in the structure.
