Processing trials with lyocell fibres using the stitch-bonding technique (German)

It is shown that the processing of 1.3/1.7 dtex 40/60 mm lyocell regenerated cellulose fibres by the Malivlies and Maliwatt processes and 3.3 dtex 60 mm fibres for the production of 3D nonwovens by the Kunit, Multiknit and KSB processes have been successful. Using different fibre layers in the fabric constructions, results are obtained which show that the nonwovens can be used as medical textiles. The 3D fabrics are also useful as acoustic and thermal insulation materials. The ratio of air permeabillity to fabric weight is indicated.
