This article discusses a needle felting process which promises massive increases in productivity and savings in manufacturing costs. It is said the new process produces stronger, more even felts; extends the life and improves the drainage of felts for papermaking; requires fewer passages through the needling system and less energy to produce a particular product; leads to savings in terms of equipment for a given production and that there is the possibility of retrofitting, at a modest cost to existing Fehrer looms.
