Microfibres are used in technical field of technical textiles particularly in the sector of filtration and nonwovens. This article is limited to orogenic fibres only and its intention is to give searchers and technicians an idea as to which microfibres are appropriate for use as types of technical textiles. Microfibres are defined as fibres with a fineness equal to or lower than 1 dtex. Discussed here are: Lyocell fibres; and aramid fibres and how microfibres are used in nonwovens, composites and geotextiles.
