Manufacturers of machines for carded nonwoven fabrics far outnumbered those of spun bonded nonwoven fabrics at ITMA 1999. Fleissner was the only company to present machines for hydroentanglement, and no company demonstrated air laid or melt blown nonwoven fabric manufacturing equipment. Fleissner received orders for two heat setting/fixation lines for needled fabrics with a weight range of 60-400 grams per square meter and a hydroentanglement line with a width of 3,600 millimeters. NSC Schlumberger demonstrated its Asselin A50-R5D2 two board needle looms and Profile crosslapping machine, which achieves speeds of up to 100 meters per minute. Kusters' ultrasonic laminating calender guarantees uniform bonding across the fabric width. Dilo Systems Group's Di-Loom OUG-11 HUSGL 35 loom features a vertical stroke of 60 millimeters and a horizontal stroke of 0-7 millimeters. Machines by Trutzschler, Autefa, and Fehrer are also discussed.
