Nonwoven cotton products using spunlace, needlepunch, stitch, and chemical and thermal bonding techniques have been developed. Cotton has not been extensively used in nonwovens because of problems associated with price, fiber quality, and adaptability to high production processing. Fiber selection, mechanical cleaning and bleaching systems, and fiber finishes are also discussed relative to the production of nonwoven cottons. Abstract.
