Index shows growing interest in industrial nonwovens

The world's largest nonwovens exhibition and congress, Index 99, was held in Geneva and attracted 450 exhibitors and more than 10 000 visitors. Innovations included anti-microbial fibres, a staple fibre based on silicic acid, and a new range of polyolefin resins. New machinery lines, such as those producing spunbonds based on bicomponent filaments, and various spunlace systems, were also on display.
