Air Products Polymers have launched two binders for the European nonwovens market. Airflex 192 DEV emulsion is a selfcross linking vinyl acetate-ethylene that is free from alkyl phenol ethoxylate. The company claims that this product is an environmentally friendly, highly efficient binder which enables manufacturers of nonwoven webs to make finished products with high dry and wet strengths, excellent absorbent properties and a soft handle. It is recommended for applications such as absorbent and feminine hygiene products where a soft handle is required.
