A hybrid market for nonwovens (Spanish) (Un mercado hibrido para los no tejidos)

Many new products are developed by combining existing materials or processes to form a new product which is a hybrid. Nonwoven technology can be considered a hybrid since this technology represents a combination of various basic technologies such as textiles, polymers and paper-making. The article presents examples of recent developments in the nonwoven area: spunbonded/meltblown (SMS) products, Thinsulate, tapes that block water, printed circuit boards, battery dividers, filtration products, oil and chemical absorbents, products for cars, fabric moulding and garment moulding. New uses for fibres in nonwovens are noted: polypropylene, P-84, PEN polyester, PTT, Tencel, Ryton, Miraflex, Basofil and cotton.
