Influence of nonwoven structure on the burning behaviour of bondings, including fabrics and nonwovens (German)

Investigations were carried out to measure the burning behaviour of nonwoven underlays and composites incorporating Malivlies and Kunit stitch-bonded fabrics in accordance with DIN 75200 (horizontal flame spread method). Quantitative methods for measuring and describing the structural and surface characteristics of the composites were modified and used in the study. The results showed that all the inflammability requirements could be met when using stitch-bonded fabrics in laminated composites as a substitute for foam materials.
