Disclosed is the process for the round swaging of small surgical suture needles onto surgical suture material. A small suture needle, with a bore on the blunt side, is attached to either an absorbable or a non-absorbable suture. The process of fastening the thread into the needle includes the feeding of the material into the appropriate bore of the needle, the fastening of this material by way of constricting the opening of the needle (bore in the blunt end), and the actual round-swaging. The connection is subsequently tested by means of a tension force that must be withstood by the product before it can be sterilized and packed.
