The nonwoven market has seen an increased se of shorter and shorter cut lengths, with requirements for improved cut-length control. Refinements to the widely-used radial blade cutters include the development of a reliable high-tension control system, improved reel design, a properly-designed tension stand and a cutting load indicator. Staple fiber as short as 6mm can now be produced at rates in excess of 5 tons per hour.
