Gebr. Kufferath GmbH and Company's new YMAX fiber and wire composite filtration media combines surface and depth filtration properties for such industrial applications as solid/quid separation and hot gas or polymer filtration. Its principal advantage over conventional filtration systems is its high porosity of up to 60 percent. Sintered woven metal structures have average porosities of 20 percent. The YMAX filter also features a very high dirt holding capacity and a higher retention rate than those of high performance metal and fiber felts. Its 100 percent homogeneous pore structure ensures uniform, controllable filtration performance in all zones of the filter.
