BBA Nonwovens' Sofspan-ETS sealable spun melted polyolefin nonwoven fabrics can be bonded using thermal, pressure, or ultrasonic methods. It provides a stronger seam, broader operating window, and faster converting speeds than conventional polypropylene and results in fabrics with a soft hand. A spun bonded version of Sofspan-ETS can be hydrophilic or hydrophobic in basis weights of 15 grams per square meter or more. A spun bonded/melt blown/spun bonded version has applications in leg cuffs and backsheets. The company's Flite 4.0 spun melted nonwoven fabric features improved formation and hand properties and incorporates a broader range of fiber deniers.
