Investigations reveal that spunlace technology in combination with air laying offers an opportunity to produce nonwovens for the medical and hygiene sectors. At the same time energy and resources can be conserved and profits can be increased. The use of cotton, increase labour and wood pulp is discussed and the Fleissner Aquajet spunlace system is examined.
