The author studied various products such as absorbent layers, coatings and adhesives which are used in disposable baby diapers and sanitary napkins. Their properties and performance are evaluated and the reasons for differences in absorption properties are discussed. PP and PE fabrics are used where diapers and sanitary napkins touch the skin. In diapers, the absorbent layer is coated with super absorbent polymers. Backsheets mainly use polyethylene.
