The paper describes the mechanical bonding of staple fibre webs produced by carding. Cross-lapping and needling of spur-laid felts. Each of the three stages of needling are discussed: Pre-needling, drafting and finish needling. Some special features of the Dilo-Needle loom and other Dilo needling solutions are presented.
