Cygnet is a light weight polyester nonwoven for use in the manufacture of protective clothing. The fabric provides high levels of protection without compromising comfort. The base fabric, which is coated with an acrylic foam, is soft, but strong. Cygnet retains high levels of air permeability, which minimizes heat stress. The coating provides an excellent barrier to such particulates as dusts and pesticides and to such liquids as water, oils, and chemicals, including cellulose thinners. Cygnet produces low levels of lint, which is optimal for environments where cleanliness is critical.
