Tailored apparel manufacturers are looking toward wrinkle resistant suits and dress siacks for 1994. Wrinkle resistant suits offer consumers more wear for their money. Interest and sample orders for fall 1994 have been strong for high twist worsted and polyester/worsted fabrics. Wool performs better than cotton in terms of wrinkle resistance. New worsted fabrics are woven with high twist yarns and finished to enhance their wrinkle resistance. Hart Schaffner and Marx, Palm Beach, Joseph and Fleiss, and George Weintraub and Sons all plan to introduce wrinkle resistant tailored apparel for fall 1994.
