Men's wear manufacturers are looking toward wrinkle resistant cotton shirts and shorts for spring 1994. Phillips-Van Heusen, Salant, and Bidermann Shirt Group all have patents pending for their wrinkle resistant technologies. Brand name shirts, such as Salant's Thomson, Bidermann's Arrow, and Capital Mercury, will debut in stores this spring. Shorts from Haggar, David Rose, Masterwear, and USA Slacks, and Spencer Industries' McGregor label will also debut. Manufacturers hope that retailers will give these new wrinkle resistant items the same dominant profile they ahve given wrinkle resistant slacks.
