Klopman has introduced polyester fabrics for use in cleanrooms in electronics and pharmaceutical facilities and for use i sterile areas in healthcare facilities. Protective clothing for these applications provide a barrier against particles and bacteria. Nonlinting properties are critical. Klopman's Vektron series of fabrics in plain and twill weave achieve these specifications. Vektron consists of core sheath filaments and continuous filaments. The continuous filaments are responsible for the nonlinting properties. The core sheath filaments are responsible for strength, dimensional stability, resilience, hand, and loft. Despite the high density weave for barrier protection the fabrics are lighweight and permeable to air and moisture. Some of the Vektron fabrics are antistatic.
