Researchers from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory attended the japanese Interantional Apparel Machinery show in Tokyo to observe the current state of the art of fobotics in apparel machinery and equipment. Japan is the world leader in the development of robotics for this sector. The researchers also visited the corporate headquarters of Brothers Sewing Mahinery Company in Nagoya. Observations by both the researchers and United States industrial representatives are summarized.
