Eastman Machine Company recently introduced the Cutting Edge Digital Cutting System, a high speed, single ply cutter that features a rotary knife. The Cutting Edgy operates at speeds of up to 48 inches per second. The use of a laser cutting head increases penetration. The microprocessor control of the Cutting Edge is compatible with most computer aided design and apparel design software. Eastman also introduced the Flacon 548 end cutter, designed for composites, vinyl, quilting, canvas, and foam; and the Cutmaster, an automatic strip cutter that features a heated blade for sealing the edges of thermoplastic materials.
