Flatbed Sewing Machines Introduced.

The Union Special Corporation introduced a new line of affordable flatbed sewing machines, the FS 1000 Series, at the 1993 Bobbin Show. In addition to the FS 1000 series, Union Special exhibited nearly 50 other sewing machines including a machine for attaching wide elastic to panties and lingerid, a machine for attaching elastic to men's knit briefs, machines for producing T-shirts, and machines for sewing jeans. As part of its exhibit, Union Special also demonstrated a T-shirts factory that showed how automation dramatically improves productivity with a minimal investment.
