Automated systems convert fabric rolls inot precision cut parts. The system unrolls, spreads, and cuts the fabrics. The first two operations are separate to the third operation, but linked. The fabric is susceptible to damage during transit from the unrolling and spreading zone to the cutting zone. This damage can seriously affect output and quality. To correct this problem, a spread guiding system for the air flotation tables used in unrolling and spreading was developed. A descroption of the system focuses on its design installation, testing, and operations.
