According to experts, CAD finally came into its own in 1993. Although most designers continue to perform 90 percent of their jobs by hand, the message is getting across that CAD systems are very efficient at facilitating the design of products. CAD innovations include Into Design's Vision Knitting program, which allows knitwear designs to be entered, deited, repeated, and combined onscreen; Infomax's Snap Fashion, and electronic library containing 4,000 predrawn garments and details that allow designers to pull parts from different designs to create new designs; Monarch's Multi-Color Jacquard program, which can be used to develop jacquard, textured, and automatic striped fabrics; Gerber Garment Technology's Accumark 800 high speed RISC system with full pattern design, grading, marking, and networking capabilities; Investronica's Windows based Tex-Design modular system upgrade; and Lectra's redesigned workstations and servers.
