In response to calls for nursing and healthcare garments more suited to actual working conditions, Career Apparel (Lancaster, United Kingdom) recently introduced two sets of protective clothing for female practitioners: a step-in dress and a tunic-trouser ensemble. The design of the apparel facilitates ergonomically correct lifting and bending, as recommended by a recent European Union regulation. For patient safety, there are no sharp belt buckless. Concealed pockets prevent objects, such as pens and scissors, from falling out. The apparel fabric is a 33/67 cotton/polyester blend that comes in nine colors, including traditional hospital colors. Westminster healthcare, which operates over 100 nursing and residential care homes in the United Kingdom, dxtensively tested the garments and reported excellent results.
