How Quality Control Can Improve Productivity.

Despite the fact that quality control concepts are universally accepted as beneficial to productivity and proditability, relatively few textile mills throughout the world have integrated these concepts into their operations. TO integrated these concepts, it is optimal to have a quality control supervisor who reports directly to upper level managers. The major responsibility of the supervisor is to test raw materials and monitor production with the aim of decreasing defects, downtime, and waste. For many mills, testing yarn quality is a critical first step that conytributes significantly to downstream cost cotrol. Improtant yarn properties tested include count, strength, elasticity, twist, uniformity, and regain.
